Getting Noticed is all about creating a straight-forward strategy for breaking through the clutter and getting your blog on the radar screen of new readers. Your goal is to prove that your content deserves their attention.
Since I am a child of the 80′s I see your blog as being a virtual mix tape. You write your singles, record ‘em, and put them on your tape. Now most bloggers, put their mix tape on the table and wait for people to arrive at their office, pick it up, and pop it in their boom box. I hate to be a cynic but that rarely works.
Others (like me and you) are hustlers. We make dozens of copies, shop the demo to the radio stations (guest posts), give out free copies (email newsletters and ebooks), and sell ‘em from our car trunk (product). We know that you gotta promote to get noticed.
Somehow the “social community” got it backwards. Creation is revered, promotion is frowned on. That’s a shame.
We’ll correct this little oversight now.
I’ve put together a quick mini-series that tackles post promotion from a few different angles. These posts have already been published but you may have missed them in the hub-bub. Print out each post and create a plan for putting each method into action.

Don’t forget that all the great writing in the world means little if no one knows you exist. If you want to help solve problems and have a unique perspective then you should focus as much time on promotion as you do on creation.

Stanford,
Great “mix” tape here! What good is doing wonderful work if no one reads it? It’s like hanging a painting in a museum no one visits!
