Your blog and website needs to convert your readers into “hand raisers” who want more information about your expertise.
In my experience, a successful blog should convert 5–10% of readers into email contacts. Static websites usually convert less about 2–3% because of their product focus.
The best way to boost conversion is by offering valuable content they can download, read/watch, and reference. This is called a Lead Magnet or Expert Product (I’ll use lead magnet). View this lead magnet as an audition for your reader’s attention and trust.
The biggest challenge you’ll have is coming up with a great lead magnet ideas. This list will offer a starting point for developing your own lead magnet.

I’ve picked a short list of industry, government, and industry verticals that usually have a tough time developing lead magnets. I’ve listed 2–3 lead magnet titles for each vertical, 50 total.
View this list as idea starters. Please do not take the titles and write your lead magnet. That’s lame and embarrassing when you find 20 other people who used the same title!
You’ll notice that using numbers is an effective method for quickly offering valuable info. Also, focusing on threats, mistakes, and pitfalls are another crowd pleaser. When all else fails, write a How-To guide, they almost always work.
