When I first started Pushing Social 2 years ago, I did exhaustive research on the the latest blog marketing techniques and strategies. I learned about guest posting, writing compelling headlines, and the magic of list posts.
Two years later, the same people are talking about the same strategies. The problem is that a lot more people blog and the competition for attention is sharper than ever. The “golden oldies” just can’t do the job anymore.
To compete in the marketplace of ideas you need to understand psychology, sociology, conversion rate optimization, direct response techniques and more. It’s an incredibly fun challenge, but it can also scare your socks off if you don’t have the right approach.
