Over the last few months, I’ve been rethinking how we do business at Pushing Social.
We’ve made some big changes that I’ll tell you about in a few weeks. We’ve also been working on an answer to an important question.
“How does a business change the world?”
We’ve been talking about content marketing, blogging, social media, and digital marketing for years. Our goal has always been to help you tell a world-changing story and deliver world-beating products. We thought that the tools were the answer. But, they aren’t.
We’ve helped many businesses sell incredible products but, except for a few situations, we haven’t seen anyone put a special stamp on the world.
I’ve been blessed with an incredible business. I get to work with fascinating people. But I’m finding that Pushing Social needs to stand for more than cool blogging tricks. We need to get back in the business of leaving a legacy.
So, here’s our answer to the question.
What Gets You Up In the Morning And Won’t Let You Sleep At Night?
I love working. It’s my hobby, passion, and meal-ticket. Recently, I’ve taken on the role of Director of Strategy at Blue Kite Marketing. Laura and her crew are the type of colleagues I always wished I could work with. Together we are doing some incredible things.
Last month, we sat around a table and discussed what makes businesses great.
Several hours later, we realized that great businesses have two characteristics.
- They are led or inspired by a visionary founder.
- They created and nurtured a visionary culture.
We decided that great products, marketing, and fancy social media won’t cut it anymore. That stuff is easy to rip-off. The only real competitive advantage comes from an inspired team of people, who can collaborate, execute, and evolve. Founders build these teams and they use culture to insure that their people love coming to work and hate going home.
I feel that way about Pushing Social.
I see it at Blue Kite Marketing.
But, I’m wondering if our hypothesis is true in other businesses. I’m curious to hear what you think about culture.
Here’s what we’re going to do.
We’ve built a short survey to get your opinions on culture.
Complete it and we’ll put your name in the digital fishbowl. On July 8th, we’ll pull a name to win a $150.00 Amazon Gift Card.
Can you do that for us?
We’ll report the results of the survey in a few weeks.
